Why join the Honor Guard?
Born from a need to recognize the passing of a brother in arms an Rifle Squad was formed by the Rochester Post 1215 members in 1924.Their mission was to preform Military Honors that included a rifle volley, Taps, and presentation of a folded flag to the surviving loved one of the veteran.  In time this squad grew to be a Color Guard which performed at public events when asked to do so, to include posting and retrieval of the National Colors at certain ceremonies, raising the colors at various sporting events, display the colors in parades and perform flag education services for school and scout groups as well a honor local returning war veterans.
